Sound for Scoliosis is a local nonprofit that supports the National Scoliosis Foundation and the upcoming Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Scoliosis Foundation.Sound for Scoliosis was designed on the basis of bringing an original, live music series into the NEPA area while raising money for a good cause.

“Tortured mind… A mind that suffers all the time. Torn and blind…Stripped away, forgot and cast aside. Hands are tied…And I can’t do a fucking thing. Hands of mine…I’ll fight until these hands are mine.” Bound Alive, I am very lucky to have been able to take two very different things that I am passionate about and combine them into a dream come true. Ever since I was 21 years old i was a big fan of all the great local music here in Scranton, PA there was a lot of talent but i found that some of the local bands had a hard time getting gigs. i wanted to help and even tho it seems completely unrelated i also wanted to help raise money for the national scoliosis foundation a cause that is very near and dear to me. When i came up with a way with co founder Rick Jones to help both local musicians and the National Scoliosis FOundation Sound for Scoliosis was born. We are a small non profit that Rick and I started where local bands play at various venues throughout NEPA to raise money for the PA chapter of the NSF. The bands get gigs, foundation gets money, I get to live my dream of helping all sources. So i recently started ROK Out Radio ( ROK Out Radio | The BackBone of NEPA) to expand my horizons. Since 2009, I have raised over $5000 for the foundation through the performances of over 50 different local bands. Show your true self Effort Never Dies.

Meet Lucia Peregrim:

She currently has a full time job, is the part time operations manager of Ricochets Rapid Detail (www.ricochetsrapiddetail.net) the event organizer of  Sound for Scoliosis, President of the PA Chapter President of the National Scoliosis Foundation  https://www.facebook.com/groups/pachapterofnsf?ap=1 and local band syndicate in which I write for MANY publications.

What motivates Lucia is she believes in the act of “paying it forward” by doing what she does best, raising money for a good cause with nothing more than local band music.   By doing this she is raising the awareness to the community of what Sound for Scoliosis is all about! Lucia has been married since 2001 has 3 beautiful furry babies. Daizee Du, Bo Duke, and Wyn-Dixie.  She is a reformed smoker since 2005 and a reformed drinker since July 2010. So this journey has been an amazing adventure for her since 2009 for its all for the better and all about seeking happiness.

Meet Rick Jones

I’m an easy going guy , I love music and play out as much as I can, I feel that life is short, so you better have fun and do what you love to do while your here. I enjoy strategic board games, RPG’s, animals, and my family. I just released my own album after 11 years of playing bass called Chronicles of the Heart, you can purchase this on CD BABY and a lot of other places just click on the link on my page. I am currently playing bass for 2 bands; Silent arms Race, an up and coming band that will explode on the music scene soon, and The 6 EAST Band, a great sounding classic Rock band with a hell of a lead vocal. You really need to check this out, it’s insane. I am also a self-employed massage therapist. I do house calls during the week and appointments on the weekends. My prices are reasonable and my work is top notch, graduating with high honors, receiving a 96 on my final exam during my clinical.
